During the rest day of the World Masters Cross-Country Ski Championships Sappada – Forni Avoltri 2026, scheduled for February 2, we invite you to enjoy a truly unforgettable experience discovering the historical and culinary heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
We will take you to Cividale del Friuli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a day filled with culture, history, and taste.
Founded by Julius Caesar and later capital of the first Lombard Duchy in Italy, Cividale is a true medieval gem.
🚌 The departure is scheduled from Sappada at 8:00 AM with private coaches. After about an hour and a half, you’ll be welcomed by a professional tour guide who will lead you through the town’s most iconic landmarks: the Lombard Temple, the Devil’s Bridge, the Cathedral, charming squares, and historic artisan shops.
🍷 Then it’s time for a tasting experience! You’ll enjoy a guided presentation and tasting of local specialties: regional cheeses, the renowned Collio wines, and of course the Gubana, a traditional Friulian dessert rich in flavor and history.
There will also be time to relax and enjoy a perfect Italian espresso in one of the town’s historic cafés.
